Do you love playing NetEnt games? Then this will be good news for you for sure.
The gaming company has unveiled a new community jackpot concept, called Starburst PowerPots, which operates across multiple games and brands.
The more you play, the more you and all the other NetEnt players win!
What is Starburst PowerPots?
Taking its name from one of the most popular NetEnt slots of all time, Starburst PowerPots is a community jackpot.
The jackpot is formed like this – the more games from NetEnt are played, the greater the number of ‘Starburst tokens’ that can be collected by the players, giving them the chance to win prizes.
Players can choose from the most popular NetEnt titles and fill up the ‘PowerPots progress bar’, which marks the progress of the jackpot.
Watch out, because when the progress bar is full, the community pot will pay out, and players will get a share of the mega prize.
Will Starburst PowerPots be available at my favorite casino?
It probably will be! NetEnt has designed Starburst PowerPots to offer varying return to player (RTP) configurations, contributions and prize set-ups, so that it plays out differently in each casino.
It has also given different casino operators the chance to tailor the user interface to match their own casino brands.
“Starburst PowerPots was developed in line with customer and player expectations, taking cue on everything from art assets to mechanics,” said Bryan Upton, director of games at NetEnt.
“Using the Starburst brand will create massive acquisition while these jackpot mechanics will drive huge engagement for players.”
So if your casino wants to keep its NetEnt fans happy, it will definitely include Starburst PowerPots in its games portfolio.
Is NetEnt adding any new games to go with the new jackpot system?
As it happens, yes! The games that form part of Starburst PowerPots will also include an additional major progressive jackpot. We have no news about that just yet, but we will keep our eyes peeled.
What happens if the pot pays out when I’m offline?
Don’t worry, you don’t need to stay online all day to see the progress bar get full. Players who are offline will also get their dues when the community pot pays out.
“This is community gaming without the over-engineering and overthought on what slot players really want,” said NetEnt’s Mr Upton.
“This product can fit into any operator’s portfolio and deliver any experience, from large, life-changing prizes to super-fast hitting jackpots,” he added.
But wait, I thought NetEnt games weren’t available in Canada?
For a while this was true. In a surprise move, NetEnt pulled out all its games from Canada in June 2016, without a word of warning. But as early as May 2017, NetEnt announced that it was returning to British Columbia, which made people optimistic that NetEnt would soon be widely available across Canada again.
And they were right – by the end of 2019, NetEnt games were once again available to players in Canada in pretty much all casinos. Now how’s that for a happy ending?
