As this year’s ICE conference kicked off in London earlier this week, established software providers NetEnt have already made some big announcements.
The software giant has revealed that it will be bringing on none other than living legend, Ozzy Osbourne in their latest blockbuster music-themed slot offering along with another action-packed slot based on Conan the Barbarian, a well-loved character who has been the subject of many a film, comic book and video game over the years.
How’s that for a double whammy?
An Ozzy-Centric Musical Slot
The Prince of Darkness, as Osbourne is fondly referred to, first rose to fame in the 70s and since then continued to expand his fanbase, selling over 100m albums worldwide, both as lead singer for Black Sabbath as well as during his solo career. His hit reality family TV show ‘The Osbournes’ also helped him remain in the spotlight.
“Rock stars don’t come much bigger, better known, or charismatic than Ozzy Osbourne. Thanks to his larger-than-life personality and outstanding contribution to music, Ozzy has developed a loyal and passionate following over the past 50 years – we can’t wait to bring this to the reels for players to enjoy,” expressed Upton.
This latest NetEnt title with feature both imagery and vocals from the iconic Osbourne, and becoming the most recent addition to the NetEnt Rocks family of games, joining similar slots like Jimi Hendrix, Guns n’Roses and Motorhead.
The deal with NetEnt was came into fruition thanks to Osbourne’s merchandising and brand management partner Global Merchandising Services.
“NetEnt are the market leaders in their field and we’re incredibly excited to add another of our artists to the exciting NetEnt Rocks family of games,” said Barry Drinkwater, chairman of the firm.
Conan the Barbarian
Yep, that’s right. The sword-wielding barbarian will be now be gracing the reels thanks to NetEnt’s latest character-driven branded title. The character of Conan is most widely renowned thanks to the 1982 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Securing the rights to the mythical hero is just another feather in the software giant’s cap, after other hit titles such as Jumanji and Planet of the Apes.
According to NetEnt director of game products, Bryan Upton: “Conan is a character and a brand with a fantastic history and legions of fans all over the world. We are honoured to be creating our own adaptation of Conan and can’t wait to give him the hallmark NetEnt treatment.”
While no details have been revealed about the official release date for any of the slot games yet, NetEnt have hinted that they have a lot more up their sleeve over the coming year with a lot more exciting games in the pipeline.
As a leading gaming software provider, NetEnt has been creating awesome games since 1996 and now enjoys its status as a pioneer in the industry, combining cutting-edge technology with thrilling gameplay.
