Canada is still riding the high of the Ice Hockey World Championships. The clash of helmets, the chase for the puck, the sound of skates cutting through ice. There's a lot behind the magic of this sport. Even if it's just waiting for the drama of the next hit – clean or not. But, aside from Ice Hockey, there are other exciting sports competitions happening right now. Not least of all is the boxing match coming up on May 19th between Adonis Stevenson and Badou Jack. The two only recently met before the much anticipated Stevenson vs Jack fight.
You don't need to be a particular boxing enthusiast to get revved up for this one. Happening on home turf, Canadians will be eagerly tuning in to the battle for the WBC light-heavyweight title of 2018. It'll be taking place at the Air Canada Center, in Toronto. Audiences can either buy tickets from the appropriate sellers, or just watch the match live on television. SkySports will be broadcasting live for sure.
Stevenson vs Jack
The Swedish 34 year-old Badou Jack is already a champion in two different weight classes. He's the WBC super-middleweight title holder of 2015-2017. Plus, he's also the WBA light-heavyweight title holder of 2017. Commonly known as ‘The Ripper', Jack is still largely considered to be the underdog of this match.
And, if you know anything about Adonis Stevenson, it becomes pretty clear why.
Stevenson, 40 years old, is the Haitian/Canadian who has held the WBC light-heavyweight title since 2013. That's four straight years of being undefeated, and counting. This will be his ninth defense of his WBC world title. It's little wonder that the man is known as ‘Superman'.
But will May 19th break his winning streak? Jack will be going toe to toe, fist to fist to claim that coveted title for himself.
There isn't a ton of variety when it comes to the bet-types of this Stevenson vs Jack match. A cursory glance through various online sportsbooks shows clearly that Stevenson is the favored winner.
Sportsbooks are willing to pay out odds of 1.63 if Stevenson wins. On the other hand, sportsbooks are offering 2.30 odds if Jack wins. The odds of a match will pay out at 21.00, or even 22.00 at some sportsbooks.
What this means is that Stevenson is more likely to win – hence why the payout for Jack's win is higher. Because it's also less likely to actually happen.
Either way, the Stevenson vs Jack fight promises to be an entertaining match. It'll be a showdown you won't want to miss. With Jack's recent streak of victories, there's no telling what will actually happen. The question is – what side are you on? Are you #TeamStevenson or #TeamJack?
Pick your side, and make those bets! You can head over to any of the recommended sportsbooks above to place your wager. You can choose the predicted winner, or the favored underdog. May the odds be ever in your favor.
