Once the slot loaded I was greeted by an electronic techno beat banging away in the background. It’s the kind of repetitive thumping base that either makes you want to party, or swallow a couple strong painkillers. The design is retro, following the style of an old-school, neon lit slot machine. The grid itself is made up of 5 reels with irregular paylines. The symbols themselves are the traditional fare of number 7 symbols, cherries and gem stones. Of all 3 features, this is the hardest to trigger because all four Hot Zones must fill with the same symbol in the same color before you can access your free spins. If the stars do align and you get there before your balance runs out then you’ll be treated to 7 Free Spins. And the wait could be worth your while because each triggering symbol will also turn into a sticky wild, substituting for other symbols to create winning combinations.

Any identical symbols which land during the Free Spins will also turn sticky for the remainder of the feature. To top things off, all wins are subject to a 2 x multiplier.

Colossal Symbol Feature

This special feature was triggered quite frequently, but it was often anticlimactic because while it may be easy to activate, it’s not so simple to get paid out. You’ll get your shot at a colossal win if you get 4 of the same symbol in each hot zone, the colors don’t have to match but they will have to be the same, for example all 7 symbols in any color.

Lucky Wheels Feature

This is probably the most entertaining of all 3 features because it requires player involvement. Land matching colors in all 4 zones and a spinning wheel will replace the grid on your screen. But the wheel is made up of 3 levels, and if the wheel stops on the ‘UP’ symbol then you’ll progress to a second wheel where you’ll get to spin again for even bigger multipliers up to 50 x. Prizes outside the special features are doled out for matching combinations of 3 symbols or more. It has a slightly disappointing theoretical RTP of 96.05%, which is lower than we’ve come to expect from most modern slots.

Wilds don’t come into play often, only featuring on reel 3. This means that wins in the base game are pretty small, not helped by the generally low value symbols, unless you can get 5 of a kind.

If you don’t mind the repetitive style and loud neon colors, this slot provides players the opportunity for some decent payouts, which aren’t all that hard to achieve. This is largely thanks to 3 effective special features, 2 of which guarantee a nice prize.

The spinning wheel feature is easily triggered and offers multiple levels of multipliers to bump up your win up to 1,000 x. Base game wins are a little disappointing, but the features are triggered so frequently you won’t be spending much time there.
