As we mentioned before, Icy Gems is played on 5 reels and has 20 fixed paylines to offer. The symbols are split evenly between gems and card values, each providing four symbols.

The gems obviously represent the high paying symbols, while the card values J to A are the lower paying symbols. There’s an additional symbol of the game name. While you might think that this is a Scatter symbol that would trigger some kind of bonus or free spin round, that is not the case. It’s “just” the highest paying symbol in the game.

Wild Symbol

The wild symbol in Icy Gems is a big “W” with the additional word wild written across it, just in case someone doesn’t get the hint.

The only downside of the wild symbol is that it cannot be collected in the symbol storage, where you amass winning symbols for superspins.

With your symbol storage having three empty positions that need to be filled, not having a full storage can award you re-spins.

If there’re empty positions in your symbol storage after a win, you’ll get a re-spin. The re-spins end either if your symbol storage is full or no additional win is awarded.

Superspins

There’re three different kinds of superspins that you can trigger by filling up your symbol storage. Every time you score a winning combination, the respective symbol gets frozen into an ice cube and put into your symbol storage.

There’re three positions in your storage and once you’ve filled them all, one of three superspins will be triggered.

The silver superspin gets triggered if you have three different symbols in your storage. During that spin, only the three symbols in your storage will spin on the reels. Since you normally have 9 different symbols spinning, this will already increase your chances at a nice win immensely.

Even better is the gold superspin, which happens if you only have two different symbols in your storage. Just like with the silver superspin, only the symbols in your storage will spin on the reels.
