Tiki Vikings comes with a heavy dose of humor, starting with its rather ridiculous title. Loading up the slot you’ll be greeted by the beefy faces of several Norse vikings who appear to have run headfirst through tropical bushes. The usual scowls and unruly hair are still present, but their effect has been somewhat diminished by flowers nestled prettily in beards, and pineapples sprouting out above frowning brows. The designers did a great job of crafting the characters, and even if the theme isn’t your usual thing, you have to admire the creativity. The music is traditional luau, which is relaxing, overlaid by less relaxing snarls and grunts from the vikings.

As far as storylines go, the player can only assume that a set of Viking warriors succeeded in breaching the Pacific, landing on an island laden with fauna and flora. Keeping the different warriors company across the reels are A, K, Q, and J symbols which have been marked out on pieces of driftwood in colorful paint. For some reason these don’t feel like a lazy addition this time, I guess the combination just works. The remaining symbol is the slot’s game logo, which also happens to carry the highest value.

I was initially fairly dismayed when I took a first look at the slot’s special features. There’s absolutely no sign of any Wilds, or even a Free Spins feature. So where is a player supposed to score their best wins? Read on to find out.

The Tiki Vikings game logo is the most valuable symbol on the grid, paying out 15 x your bet for 5 of a kind. This is followed by the orange bearded viking at 7.5 x, the viking with a pineapple on his head at 5 x, and the viking with blue flowered shades for 3.5 x. The lowest value symbols are A, K, Q and J, each paying up to 3 x for 5 of the same on a winning payline. This is a lot more value than you usually get with card suits.
