There’s something very storybook about this slot. It reminded me of settling in to bed as a 5 year old with some well-thumbed Brothers Grimm story or other. And indeed this was definitely the inspiration behind the Quickspin slot, which features a series of quirky creatures.
You’ll meet a half frog/half newt called Crikey, the fox Sylvester the 3rd (who carries the nickname ‘Sly’), and a posh owl with an eyeglass from Oxford named Eleanor. The fairytale vibe was definitely encouraged by the gentle twittering of chirping of birds and the croaking of frogs which overlaid the kind of music you might expect at a medieval banquet. The designers obviously worked hard to design characters with personality, and this really shines through.
These designs sit within a six-reel grid that’s set in the heart of the enchanted Whittlewood Forest, which also happens to be the home of our Wild Tome, created by the gold-obsessed reclusive wizard, Tom. The time of day looks to be either dusk or dawn, with gentle motes floating about, and a selection of green hues all blending in peaceful harmony. Quite pleasantly, there isn’t a card suit or Royal in sight, which goes a long way toward pulling the player deeper into the slot’s theme. Crikey, Sly and Eleanor make a regular appearance across the reels, and they’re joined by the Tome itself, a gilded book which has the power to turn things to gold and trigger the slot’s main feature.
The remaining symbols are three glass vials of different shapes and colors (red, yellow and green). Read on to learn how they all come together to generate payouts.
