What Is the Welcome Bonus at BigWin Casino?

BigWin Casino gives new players a welcome package worth up to C$4,200 + 150 free spins, spread out over the first three deposits as follows:

  1. First deposit: 125% bonus up to C$700 plus 50 free spins.
  2. Second deposit: 50% bonus up to C$1,400 plus 50 free spins.
  3. Third deposit: 100% bonus up to C$2,100 plus 50 free spins.

To qualify for these casino bonuses, the minimum deposit is C$30. The free spins can be used on select games, which currently include Elvis Frog in Vegas (Bgaming), Lady Wolf Moon (Bgaming), Big Bass Splash (Pragmatic Play), and Gates of Olympus (Pragmatic Play). Here’s the fine print you’ll need to consider:

  • The bonuses and free spins remain available for 7 days and require wagering the bonus or free spins 45x to withdraw any winnings.
  • The maximum amount that can be won from the entire welcome package is the equivalent of EUR 5,000, currently around C$7,330.

I’m neutral on this welcome package. On one hand, the bonus amounts are very generous, and the three-deposit split gives low and medium rollers more opportunity to stretch their initial funds. On the other, the terms are quite restrictive. The winnings cap doesn’t make this offer worthwhile for high rollers, while the 7-day bonus duration will make it difficult for low rollers to meet the conditions in time.

Other Offers and Promotions

In addition to the welcome package, BigWin offers two other fixed offers.

  • Weekly Cashback: You can receive a 15% cashback up to C$7,500 on losses incurred on slots, provided you have a minimum real money loss of C$375, and deposited at least C$750 over the previous week. Cashback is automatically credited every Monday and must be wagered 45 times within 7 days.
  • Friday Free Spins: You can receive either 100 free spins for deposits over C$75, or 150 free spins for deposits over C$150. Winnings from these spins are capped at C$150 and C$230, respectively, and require 45x wagering within 7 days.

Occasionally, players who opt-in to email communications can also receive one-off promotions. The maximum winnings from these bonuses are generally 15x the bonus amount, with the same 45x wagering requirement and 7-day bonus duration as the other offers.

I feel these offers are ok overall. The cashback offer is definitely the best one on the list, although it’s a shame that there’s a steep deposit and money loss minimum to benefit from it. Meanwhile, the Friday Free Spins is a great option for low-rolling, weekend slot players.

VIP and Loyalty Program

BigWin has a six-tier VIP program in which players are automatically enrolled when they sign up. As you progress, better rewards and offers are unlocked. Each level has a specific Comp Point (CP) amount for entry, with CPs awarded at the rate of 1 point for each C$45 bet on slots. Bets on any other game genre do not contribute to earning CPs at the time of writing. These are each of the levels:

  • Basic: 0 to 199 CP; no benefits.
  • Bronze: 200 to 1,999 CP; C$150.
  • Silver: 2,000 to 9,999 CP; C$300.
  • Gold: 10,000 to 19,999 CP; C$530.
  • Platinum: 20,000 to 39,999 CP; C$750.
  • Diamond: 40,000 CP+ unlocks 20% weekly cashback.

Meanwhile, for every C$65 bet on slot games, players also earn 1 redeemable CP. Once players accumulate enough, they can exchange redeemable CPs for cash bonuses with a 10x wagering requirement. This aspect of the VIP program is great, but overall, I don’t think the set-up is rewarding in the long-term. Here’s why:

  • All mentioned tier prizes, as well as the Diamond cashback, come with a 45x wager, which is slightly higher than the 40x industry average.
  • Only slot players can earn CPs at a higher rate than the average C$20-C$30 usually required to earn 1 CP on competing platforms.
  • The entry points for the higher levels compared to the benefits unlocked are very high. For context, a new Platinum player would have bet at least C$900k to get there, only to unlock a C$750 prize tied to a wager requirement. You’re much better off using the fixed weekly cashback.

What Games Can I Play at BigWin Casino?

BigWin Casino houses 10,000 casino games, one of the largest game libraries I’ve ever come across. The massive selection spans every game genre imaginable, from video slots, jackpot games, live casino, table games, crash games, and various other niches.

The provider list is equally impressive, with over 60 game studios, including well-established developers like Pragmatic Play, Yggdrasil, Endorphina, Quickfire and Games Global. You’ll also find games from up-and-coming studios like Bull Shark Games, Claw Buster and Four Leaf Gaming. This makes for a healthy mix of both classic and new games. Let’s take a closer look at what’s available.

Slots

BigWin is a true haven for slot players, with thousands of games to choose from. The choice is truly staggering! Big-name providers like Hacksaw Gaming, BGaming, Amatic, Blueprint, Relax Gaming and Playtech form part of the over 50+ studio list. It’s also very easy to sort slots based on various filters, including New Games, Jackpots and Popular Games. Some of the online slots in these tabs included:

  • Big Bass Bonanza by Pragmatic Play: This fishing-themed slot is a true classic I find myself replaying over and over. The medium volatility makes for balanced gameplay, and I got lucky a few spins in with a C$1 bet that landed 3 scatters, rewarding me with 10 free spins. Once done with the free rounds, I netted C$40 in total. Not bad! The only criticism I have is that the graphics don’t look as modern as some of the newer titles in this genre. But with an RTP that comes in at a relatively high 96.71%, and with a maximum win of up to 2,100x your bet, this slot remains a favourite for a reason.
  • Valley of the Gods by Yggdrasil: Reviews on this Ancient Egyptian-themed slot are mixed – which I suspect is due to the locked game tiles mechanic and the high volatility. The setup won’t be to everyone’s liking. Personally, I’m a fan of the innovative mix that includes respins, a win multiplier, and an extra-life feature. It takes patience to trigger these features, but if you can stick it out and you do get lucky, the slot comes with a maximum win of up to 5,800x your bet, and a decent 96.2% RTP.
  • Arcane Gems by Quickspin: This slot is a modern, jewel-themed take on the classic fruit slot machine. It’s a great option for newer slot players, striking the perfect balance with its medium volatility, simple graphics, and set-up, yet still featuring some rewarding game features that include locked symbol mechanics to help players maximize their wins, and multipliers that can rack up a win of up to 5,625x.

As I browsed through the rest of the filters, it was obvious that the game library is actively curated and maintained, with tons of new releases listed in the New Games section. I’d have liked to see a couple more filter options to help players filter games based on theme or mechanic given the huge selection – but hopefully, that’s in the works! That being said, even at its present state, BigWin makes for an excellent gaming destination for slot players.

Progressive Jackpots

BigWin has 100+ progressive jackpot titles available, all in the slot genre and nearly all powered by Quickfire and Playtech. I usually reserve progressive jackpot slot play for the weekend, which is when tons of players are betting on the games, contributing to the overall pot, and resulting in higher jackpot amounts. BigWin houses two of my personal favourites:

  • Mega Moolah: Powered by Quickfire, this series includes multiple variations like the original Mega Moolah, Atlantean Treasures, and Absolootly Mad. Keen to see what Quickfire could do with a fruit-machine theme, I tried my luck on Juicy Joker. The Mega jackpot was set at USD 7 million. I went back and forth for around 15 rounds, ending up a little lower than my starting budget before I hit 3 Juicy Joker symbols, triggering the Jackpot wheel, and ultimately landing a 3x win.
  • Age of the Gods: Playtech’s series includes multiple games linked to a progressive network with themes based on ancient deities. I decided to try my luck on Apollo Power, coming in with an Ultimate Power Jackpot of C$500k. I had some luck to begin with, landing several low wins, only to then go several rounds without any hits. In the end, I cashed out with pretty much the same amount I started with!

You’ll also find several other titles from Quickfire, including the classic Major Millions Progressive, and the WOW POT series, including Sisters of Oz and Sherlock and Moriarty. If, as a progressive jackpot player, you’ve spotted any favourites on this list, this platform would be a great fit!

Fixed Jackpots

BigWin also has some fixed jackpots, including Pirate Jackpots by Belatra and Diamond King Jackpots by Quickfire. These games have much lower prizes compared to their progressive counterparts, but they also have lower volatility, making them a solid choice for jackpot players with a small budget.

Live Casino

The studios behind this game section are Quickfire, Pragmatic Play Live, and Playtech Live. Frequent players of this genre might be put off by the fact Evolution games aren’t housed here, but I honestly think the selection from the other providers is more than adequate. Within this live casino library, the gaming options include:

  • Live Roulette
  • Live Blackjack
  • Live Baccarat
  • Live Video Poker
  • Live Sic Bo
  • Live Andar Bahar

Each provider has a virtual lobby you can enter to browse the variants of classics like roulette, blackjack, and poker. There are VIP tables, tables with multiple language options, and tons of specific game set-ups, including jackpot options!

There are also lots of live casino game shows to choose from, such as the following Playtech titles:

  • The Greatest Cards Show Live
  • Adventures Beyond Wonderland
  • Football Card Showdown

All the mentioned providers are top-notch studios so you can’t go wrong with any pick in my opinion! That said, experienced live casino players might want to give live Playtech games a try because they allow you to play multiple games at once if you wish. From the lot, I also feel they have the most innovative game show titles.

Table Games

If you prefer to bet on table games at your own pace rather than with a live dealer, this selection will be a better fit. BigWin has a couple hundred titles to choose from, with several classics and tons of variants. Some of the options are:

  • Roulette: Titles include 10p Roulette by Quickfire, Virtual Roulette by SmartSoft, and American Roulette by Belatra.
  • Blackjack: Blackjack Lucky Sevens by Evoplay, Blackjack Side Bets by Game Art Studios, and American Blackjack by Pragmatic Play.
  • Video Poker: Caribbean Stud Poker by Playtech, Joker Poker by Quickfire, and Lucky Video Poker by KA Gaming.

You’ll also find baccarat, sic bo, and some arcade-style table games. Overall, I found this to be a decent selection, but would have liked more options on video poker. From the options listed, I’d start with any Playtech and Quickfire titles as I find their layout and graphics to be the most seamless and intuitive.

Crash games

BigWin houses several crash games, but you’ll need to search for them manually, as no menu or tab automatically sorts them for you. The options include:

  • Aviator by Spribe
  • Spaceman by Pragmatic Play
  • Space XY by BGaming

I prefer Aviator for a couple of quick rounds, but Spaceman has started winning me over with its vibrant and modern graphics on longer sessions. Just be mindful of Aviator’s more favourable 97% RTP compared to Spaceman’s 95%!

Other Casino Games

BigWin also has titles in more niche genres. These include:

  • Bingo: Bingote, Bingo 75, Calavera Bingo, Tomatina Bingo – all by Quickfire. If you’re new to bingo, I suggest trying out the classic set-up on Bingo 75. All the other options here are better for more experienced players, as the game allows for simultaneous play on 4 separate fields.
  • Scratchcards: Casino Scratch, Super Shamrock Scratch, Lost Vegas Survivors Scratch – all by Quickfire. These titles have similar gameplay, so I suggest you pick based on theme preference.
  • Dice games: Nicer Dice 40 by Amatic, Lucky Streak Dice 1 by Endorphina.
  • Lotto: Sweet Lotto by Belatra, Mania Lotto by KA Gaming, Lotto Madness by Playtech.

While I wouldn’t recommend BigWin to avid players of these genres due to the small selection, the available options are plenty if you’re looking to try out a new genre, or something different from the usual slots or live casino games!

Design and User Experience

BigWin Casino has a well-designed, modern user experience with features like intuitive navigation, fast loading speeds, comprehensive account management, and around-the-clock customer support, though it has some limitations in its game search functionality. Here’s a closer look:

  • Visual design and theme: BigWin has a simple dark theme for its main aesthetic, with well-designed, yet generic graphics. Don’t expect to be wowed away by the visuals here – the BigWin team take a functional, no-nonsense approach to visuals, and depending on your style, that’s a positive thing!
  • Navigation: The site is modern, sleek, and uses good design and layout principles that make overall navigation on the site intuitive and hassle-free. As a new player, I had no problems browsing the platform for the first time.
  • Game filters: It was easy to find the main game genres and specific titles, but the search menu and function are poorly designed. Typing in a generic title like ‘poker’ or ‘bingo’ only shows six results in the drop-down menu, with no scrolling feature. So, unless you’re looking for a specific game, the search function won’t be very helpful in discovering new game options.
  • Loading speed: The site has exceptional speed including when browsing page to page, when opening new games, and when launching and using site features like the cashier or chat window.
  • Language Selection: BigWin is available in English and German, but not in French for the time being. Hopefully, this is in the works so the site can cater also to French-speaking Canadians!
  • Customer support: BigWin has a 24/7 live chat feature, available to all players on any device. We’ll look at this feature in more detail below.
  • Account management: This site has one of the simplest yet most comprehensive account management systems I’ve seen. Clicking on the user icon gives players options to check their account, balance, bonuses, and transaction history. From the account setting, players can easily toggle marketing communications on and off, input exclusive bonus codes, and manage responsible gaming tools.
  • Verification: Players need to submit proof of identity, address, and payment method. I easily completed this process by dragging and dropping the required documents in the ‘Verification’ tab, accessible by clicking on the main user icon and selecting ‘Profile’. It only takes a few minutes!

Mobile Apps and Game Experience

BigWin doesn’t have a mobile casino app, but it doesn’t need one. You can easily play on mobiles and tablets by logging in to your account via any preferred internet browser. The platform is designed to be accessible on any device, meaning all windows, games, and features fit neatly, no matter the screen size.

I checked this site out on an iPad screen, as well as a Samsung smartphone and had zero issues with browsing and gameplay. The live chat and cashier feature were equally hassle-free on the smaller screens, although I would recommend the live chat is kept open throughout a conversation. Navigating away from it (for example, to play a couple of rounds on the go), will require you to close and open the chat icon each time, dragging out the process.

Payment Methods at BigWin Casino

BigWin Casino has several payment methods to choose from that cover both CAD and cryptocurrency deposits and withdrawals. These include:

  • Card: VISA, Mastercard.
  • Bank transfer: Interac.
  • E-wallets: MuchBetter, Flexepin, AstroPay, Neosurf, MiFINITY.
  • Cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, USDT, Dogecoin.

I was pleased to see that BigWin doesn’t charge any fees for depositing and withdrawing funds, so what you deposit or withdraw is what you get – in full! Just keep in mind you might incur third-party fees depending on the method you select. For example, cryptocurrency transactions always have miner fees and your bank might also have fees for transactions below, or over certain amounts.

How to Deposit

You can deposit funds via BigWin’s cashier feature. The minimum deposit amount is set to C$30 for all CAD payment methods, while the minimum for cryptocurrencies varies depending on the type of coin, ranging from USDT 5 to DOGE 1. Here are the steps I followed to complete my first deposit using a VISA debit card:

  1. Log in to your BigWin account from any device.
  2. Click on the orange ‘Deposit’ button at the top of the page.
  3. Select your preferred payment method from the left-hand menu.
  4. Type in the amount you’d like to deposit or select a pre-set amount.
  5. Enter the transaction details.
  6. Toggle the ‘Available Bonuses’ option on and off to claim a specific bonus or type in a bonus code.
  7. Select ‘Deposit’ once again.

Once the transaction was confirmed, the deposited funds were credited instantly and appeared in the top balance amount at the top of the page. If the amount doesn’t show after you deposit, refresh the page, and if it still doesn’t, reach out to the customer support team via live chat.

How to Withdraw Your Money

Withdrawing funds takes a couple more clicks when compared to depositing but is equally seamless and easy to do. Just make sure you’ve completed the KYC process beforehand.

  1. Click on the user icon at the top.
  2. Select ‘Balance’ from the menu.
  3. Choose the ‘Withdrawal’ tab.
  4. Choose a withdrawal method (this needs to be one you’ve used to deposit in the past).
  5. Enter the withdrawal amount.
  6. Type in your details and confirm.

The minimum withdrawal is C$30, while the maximum withdrawal amount processed to a player is EUR 7,500 (approx. C$11k) per week and EUR 15,000 (approx. C$22k) per month. The BigWin team generally reviews all requests within 24 hours, after which the funds are then sent to your account.

I recommend choosing e-wallet and crypto withdrawals for the fastest withdrawal times, taking just a few minutes to hours. Bank transfers take the longest, clocking in at around 3-7 working days.

Security and Player Safety

Based on the details provided on the BigWin website and my general experience, I found the platform to be a very secure choice thanks to these features:

  • The site uses SSL encryption and security protocols to protect players’ personal and financial information. To double-check this is the case on your browser, confirm that there is a locked padlock next to the website address at the top of the screen. You’ll also need to make sure you’re using a secure internet connection before entering any payment details, to prevent cybercriminals from stealing your data.
  • BigWin is licensed and regulated by the Antillephone N.V. Licensing Authority in Curaçao (no. 8048/JAZ2019-015). This entity oversees thousands of gaming licences and checks up on these platforms to make sure that they comply with regulations and are operating fairly.
  • All games on BigWin Casino are powered by random number generators and the site only features reputable providers. So you can play with your mind at ease, as all game outcomes are fair and truly up to chance.
  • BigWin offers 24/7 customer support via live chat to address any issues. More on that below!

Responsible Gaming

BigWin has a dedicated tab with information on responsible gaming, which is easily accessible at the bottom of the page. The text covers the usual information you’d expect on the topic, including notes on how to manage personal play, the importance of gambling for fun only, as well as various external links to organizations that can help in the case of problem behaviour, like GamCare and Gamblers Anonymous.

The platform also provides various tools so you can self-manage, including:

  • Deposit limits
  • Loss limits
  • Wager limits

These can be easily edited by clicking on the user icon, selecting ‘Responsible Gaming’ from the menu, and then choosing ‘Add new’ under the limit type you want to set. Any restrictions take effect instantly while increasing previously edited limits comes with a 24-hour cooldown.

Kudos to the BigWin team for giving players full control of setting such limits, without the need to send an email or speak to an agent. I think this setup truly captures the spirit of responsible gaming.

Customer Support

There are two main ways you can contact the BigWin Casino support team: via email contact form or 24/7 live chat. Currently, the site doesn’t list a telephone support option. Opting for the live chat option is a no-brainer and tends to be the fastest way to get support. After signing up, I decided to give it a try. To do so, I simply clicked on the chat icon on the bottom right-hand side of the page. Here was my experience:

  • For the first few minutes, I had to interact with a chatbot, even though I immediately made it clear I wanted to speak to a live agent. The chatbot would be a great option for simple and clear FAQ-type questions, but this wasn’t my case.
  • Once the chatbot was sure that I, in fact, truly needed to speak to a live agent, I was put through and connected to a human agent.
  • I asked a couple of general and technical questions, and the agent gave quick, polite answers, in some cases even sending me screenshots of the relevant terms and conditions. This was a great touch!
  • The agent struggled to answer technical questions about an offer’s fine print. I was told the question would get passed on to another department. This is expected in some cases so keep in mind that depending on the nature of your query, you might need to wait a working day or two for a response.

Overall, I recommend BigWin for their customer service. It’s fast and efficient. Most questions get answered and minor issues get resolved within a few minutes. Any remaining issues are passed on to relevant departments and resolved within a few working days max.

BigWin in a nutshell

BigWin Casino is an exceptionally well-designed platform – no doubt about it. The game library is massive, the provider list is comprehensive, the welcome offer is generous, and the overall customer experience is great. There are some aspects the team must work on, but most of them are minor tweaks and fixes that I suspect will be ironed out over time. What I struggle to overlook is the glaring gap in rewards given to slot players versus non-slot players. As is, this platform generously rewards slot players but leaves all other players who would be understandably drawn to this platform’s comprehensive game library, by the wayside. I also struggle to see the sensibility in a VIP program with high entry thresholds and limited rewards, as well as offers that come with less favourable terms and bonus duration windows, when compared to other platforms. All things considered, I recommend BigWin to slot players and progressive jackpot players without hesitation but caution non-slot players to weigh their options before committing to this platform long-term.
